Blog Post #19 01/19/16
One morning I got extremely bored so I texted my friends with a morning forecast for the day. Not exactly a weather forecast, although I did include that, but more a report of everything that was going to happen/ I hoped would happen that day. The forecast included what the weather outside was like and what I planned to do about it, anything that had a possibility of stressing me out that day, important events that would happen that day (eg. a test in one of my classes), and a percentage estimate at the chances of that day being a good day. I didn't think I'd end up doing this more than once, but lo and behold it has become a routine.
Strangely enough, doing this every morning helps me be more prepared for the rest of the day. It helps me relax by knowing just what the day is going to be like and then at the end I can check my predictions and see if they happen the way I thought they would which is a good way to reflect. I also get a good laugh out of it, because after my morning forecast I allow my friends to do the sports and the crime report, and it's quite entertaining.
It's wonderful that I've found this way of preparing myself for the day that I enjoy doing and it doesn't take much time. I wish I'd found this way of doing things sooner, because my rate of productivity has gone up since I've begun forecasting. The last few months haven't been the best for me and I feel like this is a good way to help me recover.
Yours truly,
Kat N.
