Growing up I loved acting. I still do, and I would be thrilled to pursue acting as a career. Naturally, a number of my heroes, idols and role models are actors, one of which would be the infamous actor behind the Joker in The Dark Knight, Heath Ledger.
Watching Heath Ledger in The Dark Knight compelled me to love the character of the Joker, but also do some research and grow an interest in Heath Ledger. I found out that not too long after playing the Joker, Heath Ledger committed suicide. Apparently the character drove him insane. It occurred to me that he must have been incredibly absorbed by the character in order to be driven insane. He truly was a brilliant actor, but to able to play the Joker to the extent that it would pull you into mental instability is terrifyingly poetic.

One of the things that I'm incredibly excited about in 2016 is the release of the film Suicide Squad, in which the character of the Joker will be played in a film on such a large scale for the first time after Heath Ledger's demise. I've seen trailers and Comic-Con specials, and the movie looks fantastic. The actors are very well suited to their roles, the producers and directors appear to be doing a swell job. What I'm particularly interested in, however, is Jared Leto.
Jared Leto is the actor playing the Joker, and when he got the part, there was quite a bit of debate on whether or not he'll be able to live up to Heath Ledger. At first, I didn't think so. Although, the cast and crew suggest differently. Members of the cast say that he's very taken by his role and he tends to method act a lot. They say that often times when he's playing the role, they forget that it's Jared and just see him as the Joker. Jared has been sending gifts to different members of the cast and crew in the character of the Joker, which I find remarkably interesting.
I cannot stress how excited I am for the release of this movie in August, 2016. I will be watching Jared Leto incredibly carefully, considering his ability to pay a worthy tribute to one of the best interpretations of the Joker will be critiqued with passion by fans of Ledger, as well as me. The movie has an interesting concept to it, and I'm glad that I have more to look forward to than just the Joker. I'm intrigued by the actress who plays Harley Quinn as well. She is apparently very fit to her role, but the crew also says that it's been hard keeping her on track with the movie, considering she has a reputation of being a party animal and is hungover most mornings when they're meant to shoot. Seeing the trailers, it appears as though the crew has been able to keep her under control, and she seems to be quite a wonderful actress. I just can't wait to see her in action.
Yours truly,
