I don't usually post things like this, but just yesterday my friend showed me something horrible and it cannot go without being discussed.
You may have heard of Sam Pepper. He is a YouTuber with quite a popular channel and is best known for his "pranks" and "social experiments." Not long ago he was accused of sexual assault because of a video of him grabbing womens' butts without permission. He claims he had consent but the 'consent' he had received was given to him after when he asked the women if he was allowed to use the footage. The video was later removed from his channel by YouTube, however no charges were pressed against him. Many women have reported being sexually assaulted by Sam Pepper and he has gone without justice. After that point in time, this situation became something that many YouTubers made videos about and many people were discussing and raising awareness about all over the internet. The whole thing started to become just something that everyone knew; that Sam Pepper is a sexual predator and a horrible person. Very recently however, he released a prank video that has caused much controversy.
Sam Pepper portrays this as a harmless prank that he played on a friend but I don't think he understands the severity of what he's done. An event as traumatic as that can cause one to experience PTSD, severe paranoia and even Schizophrenia. My first question, why would he do that? My second question, why would he think that's okay?
However my third question is the most important and definitely the same question I want you all to be asking; Why is Sam Pepper still on YouTube?
I posted this on my blog in hopes that you all will join me, along with thousands of other people, in the effort to remove Sam Pepper from YouTube. The picture above carries a link to a petition you can sign to help remove his channel. It hardly takes a minute and I promise it's worth your time.
The YouTube community will thank you for your help.
Sincerely,
Kat.N
